This place is amazing and you can see the years of love that it took to build this incredible German village and train display. It is definitely worth it to see it firsthand! I also want to thank the current owners for taking such care of this display and honoring the original owner by keeping this alive for future generations. It is very special and everyone should go visit.
I came here quite a few years ago with my kids. I'm still amazed at the intricacies of this model train set. It's been taken over be a new owner and they seem to be making repairs to the town as they go. It's a cheap tour and I'm sure all the little kids would love it. I look forward to seeing it in it's restored glory like years before.
You have to visit Helen, GA. Some people have written some lower-rated reviews but really, most times, Helen is a nice place to visit. Tubing, decent food, neat shops, etc. One does have to deal with poor traffic flow and there are huge crowds of bikers at times but we have never had an issue with anyone while there.
Walked into the shop looking for trains. Asked if I was in the right place, but the girl behind the counter was too busy checking Facebook. Finally got her attention and she confirmed we were in the right place. Paid $40 for tickets for the whole family.... Got inside. The display was impressive but nothing was running. Not a single train on the track.
I am not a model train person. This place is awesome. So much detail.
